ShiftCap
Privacy policy
Effective 1 January 2027. ShiftCap is published by YamuGo Inc.
The short version
ShiftCap has no accounts and no servers that hold your data. Your shifts, jobs, study dates, payslip photos and name are stored on your phone and nowhere else.
What stays on your phone
- Your shifts, planned shifts, jobs, study dates and settings.
- Payslip or earnings photos you attach.
- Your name, only if you type it when making a record and choose to save it.
What can leave your phone
- Files you export or share. A record (PDF or CSV) or a backup file goes only where you send it.
- Your phone's own backup. iOS and Android may back up app data to your own iCloud or Google account, under their terms. On Android this includes the database but not payslip photos.
- Crash reports. If the app crashes, a report with the error and your phone model is sent to our crash-reporting service (Sentry). It contains nothing about you, your hours, your jobs or your files.
- Usage counts, only if you turn them on. Anonymous counts of which features are used (for example, "a shift was saved" or "a PDF was made"), sent to TelemetryDeck. They never include your hours, names, dates or files. This is off unless you switch it on, and you can switch it off at any time in Settings.
- Rule updates. Once a day the app downloads the latest work-hour rules from shiftcap.yamugo.com. This request sends nothing about you; like any web request, the server sees your IP address, which isn't stored with anything else.
Permissions
- Notifications: reminders to log shifts and alerts about your limit, scheduled on your phone.
- Camera and photos: only when you choose to attach a payslip or earnings screenshot.
- Face ID, fingerprint or passcode: used by the app lock, which is on by default so only you can open ShiftCap. You can turn it off in Settings. The check is done by your phone; ShiftCap never sees your biometric data or passcode.
Deleting your data
Use Settings → Reset all data, or delete the app. Because we don't hold your data, there's nothing to delete on our side.
Children
ShiftCap is meant for students who are old enough to work. It isn't directed at children under 13.
Not advice
ShiftCap helps you keep records. It isn't immigration advice. Not affiliated with any government or immigration authority.
